Dahn "yoga" and Dahn "tai chi" are neither what they claim to be. They are using the terms "yoga" and "tai chi" to make themselves sound legitimate. I went for several classes, after all, there are many locations which made it convenient. However, I may have continued if the franchise was honest....they are an exercise program, yes, and there are benefits to exercising. But they are NOT yoga or tai chi. I'm sure some would counter that they are just a different type of yoga....well, there is skimmed milk, chocolate milk, buttermilk, even soy or almond milk....but I think if I tried to sell you coca-cola and called it a different type of milk, you'd think I wasn't being honest. Fortunately, I found a real yoga class to join. All the variants of real yoga go back thousands of years, while Dahn "yoga" was invented in the 80s by a man who wanted to get rich....and he did, although he is facing lawsuits. You'll find real yoga classes are more physically demanding than Dahn "yoga", and therefore more beneficial, and real yoga classes are much more spiritual than Dahn "yoga". The "spirituality" offered by Dahn is of the superficial new age and cult type. Even the new variants of yoga being called "christian yoga" are still the traditional yoga exercises, just with different spiritual interpretations. But Dahn is just watered down simplified exercises made to look similar to yoga and tai chi. So do yourself a favor and seek out a real yoga class. It may take a little extra time to find one, but it will be worth your effort. You'll find a real yoga class more beneficial physically and spiritually, and you'll find real yoga classes are much cheaper than Dahn classes.
