Power yoga “demands your attention,” says instructor Rodney Yee. He leads a challenging, constantly progressing series of poses, one flowing into the next, integrating breath, movement, tension, and relaxation. The poses include Sun Salutation, standing poses, forward bends, back bends, twists, and arm balances. The first poses are fairly easy, and with each repetition of the series, Yee adds on more difficult movements, extending the series without pausing. You’re encouraged to do as much of the series that fits your level, up to the entire 65-minute workout if you’re an experienced yoga practitioner. Although you can begin at any level, some familiarity with yoga is recommended. The Hawaiian setting is gorgeous and inspiring. I love Power Yoga and found this to be a great video. I love the quick pace of the video. You get a great stretch plus a great workout at the same time. I enjoy it. I wouldn’t recommend it for beginners as it doesn’t explain all the poses and just goes into them.

4 Stars Production problem
My copy produces croma crawl from the colors being too hot. I’ve viewed this on more than one playback machine, connected to more than one TV, and it exhibits the problem on all the equipment, while the same equipment does not have a problem with any other disc. This is not a big deal, as I’m too busy working out to watch the screen very much. Possibly I just got a disc from a bad batch.

I like different types of yoga, somestime mediatative and relaxing and sometimes yoga that is a bit more of a “workout” and Rodney’s Total Body Workout is one of the later workouts I reach for when I am looking for a longer and physically challenging workout.

I have been doing yoga for awhile, a couple of years plus, so I am a bit more than a bgeinner and I found the workout challenging to do the full length immediately, but working through smaller sections at a time, and adding on more every couple of weeks, has gotten me far. It starts off slowly and builds up which helps develop endurance, but it is fine to work with the sections, by the time I was are able to do the first 15-20 minutes I felt like I was accomplishing alot.

If you are looking for a good power workout, Rodney gives you a good one on this DVD.

4 Stars Great! Watch the fingers though
Overview of the DVD

this DVD consists of combination/variations on a few very basic yoga moves…forward bends (a lot), lunges (a lot), warrior 1, 2 (a lot), down-dog (a lot), up-dog (a lot) and back bends (some 3 times to be exact)

I bought this item after reading the majority of the good and bad reviews. I own quite a few number of yoga DVDs that range from beginner to advanced. I overall like Rodney Yee and the Gaiam yoga/pilates stuff. I would recommend this dvd but want to include a little warning… Rodney does some balancing moves (that I am working on but still struggling) and you put down your hand/fingers to balance yourself. I have actually jammed my fingers doing the poses… be careful of your poor fingers. but if you don’t have those balancing issues like I do, then great and I recommend the DVD
