This kit is wonderful for someone wanting to get started doing yoga at home. It includes two foam bricks, a cotton strap, and a sticky mat with alignment guides printed on it. The bricks, strap, and mat are color-coordinated, to make you look great at yoga class (or in your living room!), and are also high quality. The lines on the mat are immensely helpful to a beginner, so that you can align your body with them and make sure you’re correctly completing the pose. The DVD that comes with the kit includes not only a 45-minute workout, but also a 25-minute “pose workshop”. The workshop is focused intensely on describing and demonstrating the poses in detail. I found the workshop to be especially good; it would be helpful for a beginner unfamiliar with the poses as well as to someone more advanced and wanting to make the most of each pose.
Overall, a great value. It’s worth paying the extra ten dollars to get quality products as well as the alignment mat and pose workshop – I learned a lot and am getting more out of my other yoga workouts because of these two items.
